Meet Bob
I hold two academic degrees. One is an associate's degree in administration of justice, from Los Angeles Community College which I earned in 1985 and the other is a bachelor's degree in general education I earned in October 2024 from Columbia College. I believe education is essential and when we quit learning, we cease to progress. When I walked across the stage to receive my degree, I was the oldest one on the stage!
In addition to the academic law enforcement class I completed for each degree, I have completed numerous law enforcement related classes which furthered my career and technical knowledge enabling me to complete extremely complex cases resulting in successful prosecutions.
There are those I also consider to be my family. They are my neighbors. One of the things that I love about living here is how much it reminds me of my small town in Iowa where I grew up. This is a family. I can truly say that when my late wife passed, those who we knew all over this county reached out and surrounded my family with love and support. I have lived all over this world, from Guam to Virginia, and can consider myself to be "from" a lot of places. However, I am firmly from here. Where I live now, I have owned in that same development for over 20 years, building four homes over the years, providing numerous of my fellow county citizens with meaningful work. Once I saw this part of God's country, I knew this is where I belonged. The people, the mountains and the river all serve to remind me on a daily basis how lucky I am to have found this place to live my life.
It is that desire to help and give back to our community that drives me to serve once again. I will be a Sheriff that you can approach. A Sheriff that you can trust and a Sheriff that will always have your best interests in mind in everything I do.
